NATIONAL Board Certified Counselor (NCC)
WORKING WITH CHILDREN, TEENS & ADULTS
SHE/HER
Maureen is a National Board of Certified Counselor (NCC) with a background in sexual assault and family trauma. She has training in Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), as well as EMDR, and child-centered play therapy (CCPT).
Maureen has special interest in working with teens and young adults, parents, and members of the sexual, affectational, intersex, and gender-expansive (SAIGE) community. She is committed to supporting diversity and inclusion, both as an individual and at a systemic level, through ongoing education, advocacy, and awareness of her own privileged identities.
Using an existential and humanistic framework, Maureen creates a space for clients to increase understanding of self, identify patterns, and attend to the places that need healing as they discover what a healthy, vibrant life looks and feels like. While therapy can be challenging, it can also be immensely rewarding. Throughout this process, Maureen supports her clients, confident of their inherent worth and committed to providing respectful care for each client’s individual needs.
